Like many people, I have been experimenting with AI and flip-flopping between loving and hating it. I often find myself blaming it, cursing it and fearing impending doom, waiting for the bubble to burst. While at the same time using it daily to share almost every thought or question on my mind, lazily getting it to refine my code and improve little site updates, etc.

I recently caught up with an old friend in London, and he is all in with AI and doing amazing stuff personally and professionally. He made me feel completely out of touch despite the many wins I have had. But after some self reflection and a lot of YouTube videos, I had to accept I’m nowhere near where the industry is going.

I would likely be further along if I was working with other people and had real projects to experiment with, but I’m still looking for a new home. So until then it’s self employment, and that’s not affording me much opportunity to experiment, and the personal costs do get insane.

But I have decided to go all in on AI. Stop going back and forth with how I see it. Until I am proven wrong, I believe it’s here to stay and it’s time to commit. I do hope to share some of my progress so you can learn from my exploration, but I do want to encourage you to get out of your comfort zone and embrace AI as a creative, whether you’re a designer, writer, engineer or leader. The industry is moving really fast, and I do believe it might be really difficult to keep up if you leave it too long.

The best time to start was yesterday. The second best time is today.
